Here is our new bulletin board. First, we started out by sketching pumpkins. When we were ready, we drew the 'good copy' of our pumpkins. Then, we traced over our lines with white glue. After our pictures had dried, we traced around the glue with a fine black marker. Our final step was to use watercolours to paint our foreground, background and pumpkin. We discussed how we can make our pumpkins look 3 dimensional by using a paler orange at the centre of the pumpkin and gradually getting darker toward the edges. They turned out beautifully!
At the bottom is our candy corn math activity. The students chose a number between 10-100. In the middle, they demonstrated how many groups of ten and how many ones in their number ( dizaines et unités). The bottom is the expanded notation of their number ( ex. 50+4=54).
