Happy New Year!

Hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing holiday. We are settling back into our classroom routines.
In January, we will be celebrating I Love to Read Month. The students have been reminded that they need to take responsibility for changing their Home Reading books in English and now in French every week.
We are starting our unit on Growth and Changes in Animals. A reminder that all baby photos are due by Monday, January 11th.
In Math, we are learning about measurement.
In English, we are summarizing stories and journal writing.
In Social Studies, we have been discussing the 4 cardinal points (directions), learning simple map skills and will soon begin our study on Canada.
In French, we are focusing on adding more details to our writing by expanding from simple sentences to more detailed descriptions. We will be beginning to focus on sounds in words.
The students have set goals for things they would like to focus on in 2016 such as reading every day, changing their home reading, being nicer and printing neatly.
The Students of the Month for November and December are Leila Ann, Madysen, Bella and Easton.
Bravo!
