February News

In Math, we have been learning about 3 dimensional geometric shapes. We continue to work on our money counting skills up to $1.00 and have started double digit addition. We have also been practicing how to write story problems.
In Science, we are studying Growth and Changes in Animals. We have been classifying animals based on different characteristics. The students are researching an animal of their choice.
In Social Studies, we have been using the iPads and Book Creator to share our knowledge on Canadian symbols and facts.
We will be building a beaver's lodge/dam for our Design Process.

In English, we have been doing many writing activities centred around the number 100.
Ex. If I had 100 friends I would.....
If I had $100 I would...
I could eat 100 ___________ but I could not eat 100 ___________________.
We have already been in school for 100 days!
We wrote what we would be like at 100 years old and used an app to show what we might look like.
Here is an example:

We are starting an activity where the students' are going to write a persuasive letter to the teacher describing why they would like a certain pet.

In French, we have been working on writing simple sentences and also adding more details to make our writing more interesting. We have been practicing reading out loud and have started Cursive a Writing.
